14A – Halfway Reflection

  1. Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
Some behaviors that I have used in relation to succeed in ENT3003 is working according to a strict schedule along with proper time management skills. This class requires students to work outside of the box and actually become involved with each individual assignment throughout each week with ways of meeting new people and uploading YouTube videos. Furthermore, I have had to become more social in relation to finding interviewees for a lot of these assignments and it has allowed me to focus more on what I want to do with my life goals.

2. Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
I definitely have reached the point in this semester in relation to giving up. I would say that I am not giving up in this course in particular, but overall in that I am a senior ready to graduate and start my full-time job. However, I realized that in order to be the greatest, I must be tenacious and to not give up and rather continue to work hard in order to receive the best grade that I can get. I knew when I was accepted into the University of Florida that it would not be easy, so I cannot give up now and this class has made me realize that nothing comes easy.

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?

1. I would say to take this class earlier in your undergraduate degree in that this class requires quite a lot of time due to the longer assignment lengths and that you should rather focus on the more important classes related to your business degree. However, UF is a big party school so do not put this class on your back burner, haha!
2. Second tip: Manage your time with this class in order to support your tenacity of becoming a Dean's list level student here at the University of Florida. There are things that pop up throughout the week that might interfere with your normal schedule that might make you miss an assignment for ENT3003 and you need to be able to coordinate with it.
3. My last tip for next semester students would be to get together with your assigned group on Blogger, that was assigned by Pryor, in order to get a bigger picture of the entrepreneurial world and also to boost your confidence with your assignments that you are going to submit. Best of luck!

  1. Hey Matthew,

I hadn't thought about considering to take this class earlier in ones undergraduate degree. I agree that this is a good tip because this class would teach many newer students how to utilize time management. I believe time management is the most important key to succeeding in ENT3003. Congratulations on this being your last semester! Good luck

    Sincerely,

  2. Hi Matthew,
I really enjoyed reading your Halfway Reflection. I completely agree with you about the uniqueness of this class and how it requires students to work outside the box. You also made some excellent points about the importance of time management in order to be successful in this class. I also loved how you included a colorful visual in your reflection as it makes it stand out and is aesthetically pleasing.

  3. Hi Matthew,

I really enjoyed your visuals as it definitely drew me to your post. I too wrote about thinking outside of the box and responsibility in relation to keeping up with the materials. Additionally, I like how much thought you put into your post for future students. I think that your blog should be an example for next year because you can really see your thought process and how much effort you applied to this assignment. I understand your position of being a senior and wanting to start out in the real world but you never get the positioning of your life as a college student back so keep that tenacious attitude going! Overall, wonderful job.

    Emily
