I read Coco Chanel, Lisa Chaney
What surprised you the most?
What surprised me the most about this book was the way she went about her business. Coco was like no other and that is what ultimately made her the successful business women that she turned out to be in the world of fashion.
What about the entrepreneur did you most admire?
The thing i most admired about the entrepreneur was the same thing I liked about Phil Knight. This was their ability to work hard and make sure they take the path that has not been driven before. They found new looks on things that was ultimately different than others. Coco was able to build a one of a kind fashion boutique that ranged from a variety of offerings.
What about the entrepreneur did you least admire?
What I least admired was the fact that Coco handled here monetary business in a sort of fishy way sometimes. This kind of took me around the round abouts because it made not the most sense and seemed like a scam. However, it lead to great success and this was just an obstacle to overcome!
Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure?
Yes, just like most people do. Coco overcame her fails when she was not able to reach the level of success she wanted initially. She had to work even harder to meet the goals and sales that she wanted to pay off her debts.
What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?
I believe the sense that Coco had such an everlasting love for fashion made her the most successful in the world of fashion. If someone is passionate about what they do then there is no reason that they cant set their mind to it and achieve what they wanted in the first place.
Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
No parts were confusing as I felt the book was a very smooth and enjoyable read that was finished easily with no questions. Great read!
If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
1. How did she come up with the nickname that became the most well known name brand of fashion?
2. If she could redo something in her business world what would it be?
For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was of hard work?
The opinion of hard work would be that some times you have to do things the different way to stand out. Ask yourself what can I do to be different. Coco was able to use this message to her best ability and made her world wide success that made her millions of dollars and still is today!

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your book reflection on Coco Chanel by Lisa Chaney. I also did my reading reflection on the same book and found her life story and business to be very fascinating. I also agree with you that Coco Chanel was quite shady in many of her business endeavors and definitely was what I also admired the least about her.
