30A – Final Reflection

Image
1. Throughout the duration of this semester there has been both highs and lows, as if I were on a non stopping roller coaster. Looking back on the posts I made for this class easily reminded me of all the great times we have had in this class. Times of great success and points of complete tiredness reflect the majority of my posts that I appreciate each individually to a large extent. 2. The most formative experience was when we had to make our Elevator Pitches over and over until we were satisfied with our best one. This really helped grow my entrepreneurial background and experience because being able to talk is important in the business field. However, it was just a great opportunity to see yourself speaking and because we were given a second and third attempt to knock the assignment out of the park. I was very pleased with this assignment as I thought it turned out great and it was the most enjoyable to complete, and I will definitely remember it for years to come. 3. At the en...

29A – Venture Concept No. 2

Image
1. Opportunity              The customer that would have the need would be anyone into shoes and high end fashion.  The forces that are helping this opportunity grow the most is the influence of social media and what celebrities are wearing each day. I did not receive any feedback on this post. I would still like to see the same opportunity being used for this venture concept in order to see if it will work the first time around.  My innovation is a fashion boutique that offers the highly limited pieces of clothing and shoes that are hard to find at reasonable prices. My ideal business concept would create a store here in Gainesville, FL on Archer Rd that is based upon a consignment shop theory where people can buy, sell, and trade authentic high end fashion and sneakers.   2) Provide a summary of the feedback you received from your previous venture concept description. You certainly want to include the student feedback, but you...

28A – Your Exit Strategy

1. My exit strategy for my business product would be to sell it off after a period of time once my business is worth multi million figures, hopefully in 10 years of it being open and running. Through this exit strategy I would work hard over the years to build capital that would make me be able to retire early in life and pay for and provide for my family. I believe my product has this ability and it will be a great long term investment. 2. I chose this exit strategy because I want to sell my business at its peak and make the most profit that I could over the duration of owning my product. This will help my future the best because I could transition into something different if my interests of selling shoes declines. I believe this tactic of selling my business after 5-10 years is most smart to avoid any decline in the liking of high fashion shoes and clothing. 3. This exit strategy has made me realize that I would like to sell it after 5-10 years because of the possibility of me ca...

27A – Reading Reflection No. 3

I read  Coco Chanel, Lisa Chaney What surprised you the most? What surprised me the most about this book was the way she went about her business. Coco was like no other and that is what ultimately made her the successful business women that she turned out to be in the world of fashion. What about the entrepreneur did you most admire? The thing i most admired about the entrepreneur was the same thing I liked about Phil Knight. This was their ability to work hard and make sure they take the path that has not been driven before. They found new looks on things that was ultimately different than others. Coco was able to build a one of a kind fashion boutique  that ranged from a variety of offerings. What about the entrepreneur did you least admire? What I least admired was the fact that Coco handled here monetary business in a sort of fishy way sometimes. This kind of took me around the round abouts because it made not the most sense and seemed like a scam. However, it ...

26A – Celebrating Failure

1) Tell us about a time this past semester that you failed -- whether in this class, or outside of this class. Don't spare any details! It'd be even better if there was something you tried several times this semester, and failed each time.  This semester I tried landing an internship with a fortune 50 or 500 company. This was a failure in that I still have not secured an intern position for the summer after numerous attempts. I really need an internship to graduate, and I have gone through interviews and still do not get the position after interviewing my candidate role. I honestly do not know what I am doing wrong to not obtain an offer from a company. However, I will keep trying no matter how many times I fail because everything usually all works out. 2) Tell us what you learned from it.   What I have learned from this failure is that I need to not give up, but to rather keep trying. I should rather polish my resume and cover letter to make it look more attractive...

25A – What’s Next?

Existing Market  1. The next step for Kash For Kicks would be to get in contact with all of my possible vendors that I personally know will lots of inventory of shoes and clothes to make sure that I have this part of my store ready for when it opens on its first day of operations. I will need all the inventory I need in case of large costumer amounts enter my store. 2. After speaking with my three interviewees, I got to learn more about what my costumers actually want from a store like mine. The three people I chose were people who enjoy street wear and said that they would love a store like this in Gainesville. They love the consignment concept of my business and being able to make quick cash instead of selling over the internet. My final interviewee said that to just make sure you market strong enough on social media to gain as much following as you can. 3. Based on my own expectations and the feedback that I received, I believe what would make the most sense for m...

24A – Venture Concept No. 1

Kicks for Kash Opportunity The people that have a need for my business product are anybody of all ages that enjoy shoes and fashion in general. Overall, the idea behind this need is that people enjoy dressing up and putting an image out to other people of how they dress. Waking up everyday and deciding what to wear for a particular day is what every human goes through each day if they have a sense or care for fashion. This market segment is represented by people primarily in their teenage or mid 20 years in life because that would be the products that attract them the most. The forces that are helping this opportunity grow the most is the influence of social media and what celebrities are wearing each day. If I have these particular items that people want, then I can attract the demographic region into my store easily. This opportunity will be open for a very long time because I can just adapt to the most recent trends in fashion that people enjoy the most and exchange my invent...
